Windows 10 now easier to install on the smartphone, but not on any

After the release of Windows 10 for ARM processors enthusiasts began experimenting with the launch of the OS on different mobile devices. Some have launched it on the Nintendo Switch, others - on smartphones running Windows Mobile and Android. And now there was a way to install a simple "ten" on the Lumia 950 XL.

A group of LumiaWOA enthusiasts has released an OS build and a set of tools, which allow you to replace Windows Mobile with Windows 10 for example for 5 minutes. In the future, similar builds are expected to appear for other Lumia smartphones. It is important to note, that the mobile OS will be removed in the process, so it’s no longer possible to use a smartphone as a phone. It is also quite possible to lose data, damage the bootloader and so on. Therefore you should proceed with caution.

For flashing you will need:

• WPInternals utility;
• Windows Device Recovery Tool;
• Firmware file

Step-by-step instructions are also available. of course, this is an unofficial way, however for enthusiasts, seem to be, it will fit and will be no more difficult than changing the original firmware to a fan-built one.

It should be noted, what's under Windows? 10 There are still few native programs for ARM processors, which work without x86 architecture emulation. Therefore, most software will inevitably slow down and quickly drain the smartphone’s battery. On the other hand, a small device with a full-fledged OS can be useful in a number of cases, when it is inconvenient to use something larger and/or more expensive.
