You can make a will on your facebook account

Facebook introduces a new feature, thanks to which each user can decide, what to do with his account on the largest social network after death.

Facebook (as well, like other Internet services), is very popular. Должен ведь держать баланс в между соблюдением конфиденциальности умерших и, as expected, скорбящих друзей и членов семьи. До сих пор счета умерших пользователей автоматически блокировались. Largely due to requests from loved ones, this policy will change in the near future.

The new feature is called Legacy Contact and allows a person, which the user selected, управлять своей учетной записью – выбранный человек сможет либо частично, либо полностью удалить все после смерти пользователя. Этот человек сможет, eg, написать пост от имени умершего, announcing the details of the funeral, update photo and background, download archive of messages and photos, and also add a postscript before the name, indicating that, that the deceased is no longer among us.

Our Legacy Contact will not have broad capabilities. There will be no option to log in, to a dead account, change settings, and there will be no access to messages. Another available function will be complete account deletion.

Initially, the option will only be available in the US.. With time, it will also be available for other countries, including in Ukraine.
