Company Plextor is preparing to release M7V and M7VG wheels. Despite their official premiere will have to wait a little longer before they appear on the shelves, but we can already say, what to expect from them.
M7V series includes standard model of type 2.5-inches (6,8 mm), and carriers of type M M7VG. 2 (2280) - in both cases, there are three options volume: 128 GB, 256 GB i 512 GB. In both cases also using the same components: Marvell 88SS1074B1 controller and memory Toshiba 15 TLC NAND nm, and generally support 256 – 1024 MB cache, DDR3.
Besides, drives use technology PlexNitro, which optimizes the process of recording on the basis of SLC NAND memory, consequently improves write performance. M7V models have a data rate read / write 560/530 MB / s, and the number of I / O operations per second to 98 000/84 000 IOPS, while M7VG model slightly weaker, maximum 540/490 MB / s and 95 000/87 000 IOPS.
The manufacturer has applied the known solutions of the previous designs – PlexTurbo Smart Cache technology provides effective reduction in the number of hits to entries for larger SSD lifecycle, PlexCompressor Smart Compression technology automatically compresses files, have not been used for more than 30 days, increasing free space on the SSD, and using PlexVault applications can hide private / confidential information on a public computer.
Both series are endowed with a 3-year warranty from the manufacturer, which unfortunately was limited data recording:
- 80 TB in the case of versions 128 GB;
- 160 TB in the case of the version with 256 GB;
- 320 TB in the case of versions 512 GB.
Prices for each version is still unknown, but certainly it will be the cheapest model in the range of Plextor .
