PlayStation cooling system design 5 leads to strong heating of one of the RAM chips

The authors of the YouTube channel Gamers Nexus disassembled PS5, carefully examined the insides of the console and found out an unpleasant detail. One of the GDDR6 RAM chips heats up to 93,3 degrees Celsius.

This unpleasant news is confirmed in the video below.. Bloggers managed to discover, that the RAM chip gets very hot, located at the bottom of the motherboard. While the console was operating, its temperature reached 93,3 °C. When testers removed the top plates of the PlayStation 5, then the figure dropped to 88,6 degrees. The experiment was carried out at ambient temperature in 23 degrees. It is worth noting, what Micron indicates 105 °C, as the maximum permissible temperature for its GDDR6 RAM. So everything in PS5 works within the limits of what is permitted.
In the video, bloggers explained, What is the reason for such high thermal indices?. It's all about the radiator, which covers the top memory chip, but does not touch the bottom. Hence the difference in temperature - 65,5 vs 93,3 °C.

My user, who live in hot climates, it is worth paying attention to the problem. If PlayStation 5 will work in conditions, where the ambient temperature reaches 35–40 °C, then the lower RAM chip may begin to overheat.
