Windows update 10 keep coming out with errors. This has become a kind of standard for the company.. And the farther, the more problems they cause, although it should be different. Only in the last couple of months there has been a whole bunch of large and not very problems with updates: problems with bluetooth and wifi drivers, search, cleaning utility and much more. What's the problem?

According to former Microsoft employees, the company has changed the Windows Update testing process, which was one of the reasons for the confusion in this direction.

According to a former senior software engineer at Microsoft, At one time, a whole team of Windows update testers worked in Redmond. It had various subgroups for checking drivers or interface, however, all members discussed the failures at daily meetings.

Automated systems were used to check correctness, and manual testing on real PCs, not virtual machines. But in 2014, everything changed - the company fired the Windows testing team and transferred their functions to enthusiasts. Automated tests run on virtual machines.

And although many users have signed up for the Insider program, to test new features, they quite rarely report real problems. And support is even less likely to respond to this. Consequently, product quality has dropped.

Redmond plans to change a number of aspects regarding the installation of updates, however, this is unlikely to completely solve the problem. After all, testing was and remains the best way to identify problems in code before its release.. Artificial intelligence is not yet capable of this.
