Radeon R9 380, R9 390 and R9 390X: review of video cards

Recently, a review of Radeon R7 graphics cards was prepared 300, and this time we have more efficient models of the Radeon R9 series 300 - we are talking of course about the Radeon R9 380, R9 390 and R9 390X.

Radeon R9 380 based on Antigura PRO core, which is integrated into 1792 stream processor, 112 texture units and 32 rasterization unit. Besides, available 2 or 4 GB GDDR5 256-bit memory. The standard frequencies of the card are 970 MHz for the core and 5500 MHz (version 2 GB) and 5700 MHz (version 4 GB) for storage. Power consumption is estimated at 190 AT, which means it is already necessary to connect two 6-pin auxiliary power modules.

In 390 cards uses a Grenada PRO graphics processor with 2560 stream processors, 160 texturing units and 64 rasterization units - its standard clock frequency is 1000 MHz. There was a place on board for 8 GB GDDR5 memory, 512-bit with frequency 6000 MHz. Card requires connection 6 – and 8-pin power connectors, and its power consumption is estimated at 275 W.

Closes the top three Radeon R9 390X, which is based on the Grenada XT graphics system - it has 2816 stream processor, 176 and texturing units 64 screening units, and its recommended clock speed- 1050 MHz. Besides, card has 8 GB GDDR5 memory, 512-bit with frequency 6000 MHz. The TDP coefficient is also 275 AT, and hence connection is required 6 – and 8-pin auxiliary power connectors.

All three cards are DirectX compatible 12, Mantle API и Vulcan API, as well as FreeSync technology, Virtual Super Resolution и Frame Rate Targeting Control.
