Lara Croft returns to Tomb Raider Reloaded for iOS and Android

We haven't seen the famous Tomb Raider Lara Croft since Shadow of the Tomb Raider 2018 of the year, but, seem to be, the heroine is ready to blow the dust off her pistols again. Square Enix presented a short video, representing the next game in the series - Tomb Raider Reloaded.

Unfortunately, this is not another blockbuster restart and not a continuation of the last trilogy, and a new mobile rethinking of the famous series, which will be released on iOS and Android in 2021 year - exactly for the 25th anniversary of the series. Touching dinosaurs and golems here will act as enemies of the childishly cute Lara. It is unlikely that this will make the hearts of old fans of the series beat faster., but, may be, will interest the younger generation of players, unaware of more than 20 years of tomb raider history.

Tomb Raider Reloaded is being developed by Emerald City Games (G.I. Joe: War on Cobra) and the Square Enix London mobile team. The announcement provided a minimum of details - unknown, will the project rely entirely on touch control or will there be other ways of interaction. Also not specified, where this time Lara's adventures will lead.

Anyway, nice to see Lara in a classic outfit again, known for the very first Tomb Raider 1996 of the year. Lara will return to fighting giant spiders and dodging traps, but the fans hardly wanted it, complaining about the harsh and cruel atmosphere of the last trilogy, where the focus is on fighting, gathering and a semi-open world instead of the traditional acrobatics and puzzles.

Square Enix Describes Tomb Raider Reloaded As A Shareware Arcade Game. Tomb Raider has been experimented with with varying degrees of success. You can remember the cooperative shooters Lara Croft and the Guardian of Light and Lara Croft and the Temple of Osiris, mobile puzzle game Lara Croft Go or Tomb Raider runner: Relic Run.
