Qualitative deception: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2090 catches fire during testing

April 1st, many information resources, dedicated to IT, including our, publish as real, and comic news. These materials come in a wide variety of qualities., from outright fantasies to quite believable. And sometimes there are very unusual "news", about which it would be quite justified to write even after April 1. for example, this year there was "news" that, that NVIDIA has prepared a GeForce RTX graphics card 2090 based on two Turing GPUs!
Qualitative deception: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2090 catches fire during testing

An enthusiast with the pseudonym Captain NA posted a video on his YouTube channel, in which he demonstrated unpacking, disassembly and testing of the new GeForce RTX video card 2090, ostensibly built on two Turing GPUs. Moreover, the level of study of the material is really impressive..

An enthusiast created several layouts of the GeForce RTX graphics card 2090, which are very similar to real graphics accelerators. Only the enormous length makes these devices fake at first glance. Interesting, that one of the layouts even has a detailed printed circuit board, which hosts not only two GPUs, but also other electronic components, power circuits and even a PLX chip. Of course, all elements are not real, but the video looks very believable.

The packaging layout of the "new" video card was also created.. The high level of preparation of this fake is also indicated by, that during the "passing tests" the fans of the fake video cards worked, and the GeForce RTX logo was capable of shimmering in various RGB colors. Besides, enthusiast created a layout of the motherboard ASUS ROG Dominus, on which a bundle of four GeForce RTX video cards was "launched" 2090, united by a huge NVLink bridge.

During "testing" one of the video cards caught fire from high load, however, the enthusiast was soon able to extinguish it in a "pioneering way", so the fire did not affect the performance. "Testing" showed outstanding performance of the new "two-headed monster" from NVIDIA.
